Educated in Theatre and Art History and with broad work experience, Gabrielle brings a huge catalogue of knowledge and her incredible energy and personality to every project.
I have been lucky enough to collaborate with some extraordinary artists and professionals in Theatre, film and television helping facilitate performance by creating costumes that performers feel inspired by. Watching an actor evolve into a character and being a part of this process is what I love. I understand how important costume is to performance and all the visual language that costume can communicate.
I believe a costume should look like it lives in the world the director and production designer have created. That’s why collaboration and communication across departments is the key to excellent design.
Working to a brief with challenging budgets is one of my superpowers. I have worked on big-budget films and TV through to micro-budget feature films, this experience has helped mould me as a designer and HOD. I can slot into any kind of team, big or small setting up departments in sometimes challenging circumstances.
I am solution focussed without losing sight of excellent design and creativity. I am able to design for manufacture and have a huge network of industry professionals, earned from my work as a buyer and supervisor on a large range of productions.
